God was great at M.A.D. Festival !!
Monday, August 23, 2010
At the M.A.D In The Streets Festival on Saturday the 21st, Acts 20/20 Ministries gave away
- 34 KJV full-text Bibles
- 90 ESV NT's
- 55 'mini' ESV NT's
- 28 copies of John Piper's "the Passion of Jesus Christ" book
- 169 John Piper CD sermons of "12 Loaves Of Bread & Walking On The Water"
and over 400 tracts.
We had the opportunity to speak with many people in depth about Jesus Christ and their needs, and also to pray with a number of them.
When the festival ended, there were over 150 professions of faith made!
Please pray that God make every single one of them to be real and lasting, and that He send a mentor for each person to guide and walk with with them as they begin their lives of faith.
Praise our Great God that the weather cleared perfectly, the festival ran smoothly, and His name was glorified!
We give much thanks to the Father, and to all who donated materials and time to make this festival happen.

End of the year 2009

"Christmas Eve - EVE"...In other words, the night before Christmas Eve, four of us went door-to-door in a local neighborhood and gave away 30 Bibles while singing Christmas carols.
It was snowing, blowing, and not at all warm, but we were able to speak with a number of people, and were able to pray for the needs of a few of them before leaving them with a new copy of the Bible that also contained a CD sermon by John Piper, and some other information.
This was a great way to end the year...

Quick update...
Tuesday, December 22, 2009
Due to an error on the part of USPS, oh... let's face it, due to them not really caring - I "received" one of my Christmas gifts a few days early: today.
My darling wife arranged the needed PO Box for Acts 20/20 to use for standard (actual) mail. I should have the box number in a few days, and will update the information on the site ASAP. :-)

(addendum: the PO Box address for mailings to Acts 20/20 is now available on the Contacts Page of the site).
What comes next with Acts 20/20?
Saturday, August 22, 2009
Here is a list of "next" things that we'll be working on in the coming months that are needed for this ministry to accomplish its goals:
1) Setting up a Post Office box to handle all mailings, shipping, and physical correspondance.
2) Drafting and then mailing a letter of introduction to local churches and ministries, to point them to the site, and to hopefully gain the information they want us to disseminate to the public for them about their resources, ministry, etc.
3) Obtaining a multi-disc tower burner to duplicate all the FREE CDs/DVDs to be given away. Ideally, it will be a laser-scribe as discs can be labeled at no additonal costs for labels, printing, and application of them.
4) Buying a bulk (1,000 or more to start) of plastic handled bags that will hold the FREE Bible, FREE CD, and other materials to be given away.
5) Buying a bulk of blank CDRs (1,000 to start) to 'burn' the FREE sermons onto.
6) Drafting and printing leaflet/flyers/etc that contain all local minstry info to go in bag with FREE Bibles.
7) God willing, adding a few pair of Christian feet willing to go door-to-door with us for the glory of the Lord.
Each item on the list needs to be dealt with for the ministry to achieve it's primary goal of reaching people door-to-door with the love of Christ Jesus. It is my hope, that the site will fuel the footwork as this progresses by pointing helpers to us and so on.
We would consider it a great service if you would pray for us in these things, and in any other way you are lead to assist in this work.
May the Lord God shine ever more brightly through your walk of faith!

Revamped Logo for Acts 20/20
Friday, August 21, 2009
If you look closely at the main page you'll see that I've put up a spiffy new logo for the ministry.
The new logo is a revamped version of the original which I designed almost 3 years ago. There was nothing actually wrong with the logo such as it was, but I felt that it needed to be sharper, crisper, and more dynamic (most especially in how the "20/20" came across visually. This new logo is also much better for changing and resizing to other formats (banners, business cards, etc etc).
At first glance, the changes are subtle, which is why I said to look closely at the main page - there's a good chance you blew right by it without noticing! ;-)
